For many fantasy football owners, Week 9 was a bye-week abyss of horrific proportions. No less than six teams were on a bye which, combined with the number of major injuries we have seen this season, likely left plenty of owners scrambling to fill their lineups.

Then there was the crazy output we saw from unheralded or unexpected players like Darrell Young and Case Keenum.

What did some of these fantasy performances—or lack thereof—tell us about player values? Click through to find out.

This article is intended to reflect a "stock market" situation, where you will want to buy a player in a trade at a perceived bargain or sell him for a nice return.

Buy: Robert Griffin III, QB, Washington

Of all the quarterbacks who had an incredible Sunday, Robert Griffin III was left out in the cold. At least when it comes to fantasy football, anyway.

The second-year quarterback continued to be a monumental  disappointment for his fantasy owners, failing to throw or run for a touchdown despite leading his team to an upset of the Chargers. A big reason for this was San Diego's inability to stop the run—Darrel Young cashed in for three touchdowns as Week 9's Ultimate Vulture.

Griffin appears to be rounding into form, though, and he could seriously help your fantasy squad during the second half of the season.

This one is really quite elementary, so much that it might actually be difficult to unload Nick Foles.

Who throws for seven touchdowns in a game? More importantly, who ever comes close to repeating that feat? Unless your name is Peyton Manning, the answer is probably "nobody."

This is an answer everybody knows, though, hence the aforementioned difficulty in trading Foles away. But you can still parlay the big performance and the promise of a starting gig in that offense into a good offer. Just remember to be suave in your pitch.

Buy: Ray Rice, RB, Baltimore Ravens

It's been a bit of a nightmare season for Ray Rice and his fantasy owners. Aside from a two-touchdown performance down in Miami, there hasn't been much to cheer out of that Baltimore backfield.

Last week might have been the low point, however. Rice was completely held in check thanks to Cleveland's ferocious defensive front and an early lead for the Browns. The Ravens spent much of the second half playing catch-up.

Sell: Trent Richardson, RB, Indianapolis Colts

It's not as Trent Richardson had a good game in Houston. His fantasy output can't really be considered decent, scoring 5.3 standard points on the night.

That's just par for the course for his fantasy owners, who have seen nothing but disappointment from the sophomore runner. But you might be able to trade him away on the promise of more.

There is value in a name, after all, and Trent Richardson's might carry enough to fool someone into taking him off your hands.

Buy: Jordan Cameron, TE, Cleveland Browns

Four yards.

That's all Jordan Cameron got his fantasy owners last week, and he did it near the end of the game. He heads into Cleveland's bye week leaving a bitter taste in their mouths.

Now is the time to pounce.

By now it's obvious Cameron isn't Jimmy Graham like he made some think at the beginning of the season, but he will still be a valuable fantasy asset. He was actually targeted once more against Baltimore than in Week 8, when he caught four passes for 81 yards.

Sell: Jared Cook, TE, St. Louis Rams

After seven weeks of abject disappointment following a Week 1 explosion, Jared Cook has finally found the end zone again.

Now go and bamboozle someone who somehow believes this is the beginning of a big run for the ever-disappointing tight end.

Buy: Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons

It has been a few games without Julio Jones now for Matt Ryan, and his value has hit rock bottom.

Ryan has thrown just two touchdowns to seven interceptions over the past two weeks, a horrific stretch that might have his owner in tears.

Life doesn't get easier against a Seahawks defense that might be out for blood after getting trampled by the Buccaneers last week, but you can use that to your advantage in negotiations. Highlight the fact you will be saving his owner from another week of agony as you give him or her scraps.

After all, his next four opponents come in the form of Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Buffalo and Washington, four mediocre-to-bad pass defenses before hitting San Francisco on the fantasy championship weekend.

Sell: Case Keenum, QB, Houston Texans

Really, many of the fantasy performances at quarterback can be construed as "sell high" candidates. Cleveland's Jason Campbell and Minnesota's Christian Ponder are two big ones, but Case Keenum takes the cake here.

It seems like Keenum has put a hold of that starting gig and run with it. Should you run out to get him?

Well, if you are an Aaron Rodgers owner, you could do worse than Keenum. But if the second half of the Colts game—when Keenum failed to get his team into the end zone after Indianapolis made halftime adjustments—was any indication, Keenum isn't trustworthy to helm your fantasy squad.

Buy: Jamaal Charles, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

After starting out the season with touchdowns in each game through Week 7, Jamaal Charles has now been shut out of two straight.

The Bills did a surprisingly good job against the Chiefs last week, nearly pulling out an upset victory because of their defensive efforts. That effort largely centered on slowing Charles, who was only able to muster six yards on his six catches.

Charles didn't have a terrible day, but he may have become attainable in your fantasy league. If you are competitive, trade away some depth to get him. Go for broke.

Sell: Chris Ivory, RB, New York Jets

The season-long, weekly Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde performance from the New York Jets hit a new high last week when they beat the first-place Saints. The biggest performer for the Jets? None other than former Saint Chris Ivory.

What better motivation for Ivory to have a huge game than to play a former team that kept him buried on the depth chart and ultimately moved him for a fourth-round pick?

Of course, given Rex Ryan's comments about playing the "hot hand" after Ivory's last good game, now might be a good time to sell high on the oft-injured running back.

Buy: Vincent Jackson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Last week's dud in Seattle should come as little surprise, even if the Buccaneers had a feisty showing. Vincent Jackson was going up against the league's best secondary, anchored by Richard Sherman, after all.

The Buccaneers might be winless, but they certainly showed signs of fight last week. Jackson will bounce back as the top receiving option for Mike Glennon.

Sell: Aaron Dobson, WR, New England Patriots

It has been a magical few weeks for rookie Aaron Dobson, who overtook Kenbrell Thompkins in New England's offense and hasn't looked back.

Dobson scored a pair of touchdowns against the Steelers last week en route to an unprecedented rout of that proud franchise. It wasn't Dobson's first good game of the season either, as he built off Week 7's nice performance against the Dolphins.

But with Rob Gronkowski returning to form, Danny Amendola finally producing and Shane Vereen on track to return in Week 11, Dobson's production figures to get spotty the rest of the way.

Buy: Marques Colston, WR, New Orleans Saints

Have we hit rock bottom with Marques Colston yet? After weeks of disappointing outputs, the Saints' No. 1 receiver was held out of last week's game against the Jets. Maybe that was the rest he needed to heal.

At any rate, you could probably flip a backup tight defense for Colston these days. Once his knee heals, he will resume his role as the top receiver in that fantastic offense. He has a high ceiling as the fantasy playoffs approach.

Sell: Mike James, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sunday marked the second consecutive week where Seattle was roughed up in the ground game.

This time, the Buccaneers came to town and inexplicably steamrolled that defense behind the efforts of rookie Mike James. It was quite shocking given the reputation that Seahawks defense possesses, especially backed by that home crowd.

Had James been assured of the starting job over the next few weeks, it would have been advisable to hold onto him. But there are rumblings that starter Doug Martin might return as soon as next Monday.

Take advantage of James' big game and pawn him off on an unwitting opponent before it's too late.
